Constraining Spatial Densities of Early Ice Formation in Small Dense Molecular Cores from Extinction Maps

چکیده
Tracing dust in small dense molecular cores is a powerful tool to study the conditions required for ices form during prestellar phase. To these environments, five were observed: three with ongoing low-mass star formation (B59, B335, and L483), two starless collapsing (L63 L694-2). Deep images taken infrared JHK bands United Kingdom Infrared Telescope WFCAM (Wide Field Camera) instrument IRAC channels 1 2 on Spitzer Space Telescope. These photometric used calculate extinction along line of sight toward background stars. After smoothing data, we produced high spatial resolution maps (?13''–29''). The then projected into third dimension using AVIATOR algorithm implementing inverse Abel transform. volume densities total hydrogen measured lines where (H2O, CO, CH3OH) have previously been detected. We find that pure CH3OH or mixture CO maximum above 1.0 × 105 cm?3. are only reached within fraction each (?0.3%–2.1%). presence may indicate onset complex organic molecule cores, thus can constrain region this begin. star-forming our sample (?(1.2–1.7) 106 cm?3) higher than those (?(3.5–9.5) cm?3).

On the formation of glycolaldehyde in dense molecular cores
Glycolaldehyde is a simple monosaccharide sugar linked to prebiotic chemistry. Recently, it was detected in a molecular core in the star-forming region G31.41+0.31 at a reasonably high abundance. We investigate the formation of glycolaldehyde at 10 K to determine whether it can form efficiently under typical dense core conditions. Using an astrochemical model, we test five different reaction me...
متن کاملDense Cores in Dark Clouds . XIV . N 2 H + ( 1 – 0 ) maps of dense cloud cores
We present results of an extensive mapping survey of N2H (1–0) in about 60 low mass cloud cores already mapped in the NH3(1,1) inversion transition line. The survey has been carried out at the FCRAO antenna with an angular resolution of 54, about 1.5 times finer than the previous ammonia observations made at the Haystack telescope. The comparison between N2H + and NH3 maps shows strong similari...
متن کاملIce CO-cktails in molecular cloud cores
Spectra of the 4.67μm (2140 cm−1) solid-CO absorption feature are presented, towards embedded low mass Young Stellar Objects in nearby molecular cloud cores, mostly in Taurus. The likely composition of the CO-bearing ices is analysed by fitting the observations with laboratory data and the statistical significance of the results is discussed. Excellent fits to the nonpolar component of the CO-i...

We report the results of a multitransitional study of four southern molecular clouds in the CS J = 2−1, J = 3−2, J = 5 − 4, J = 7 − 6; CO J = 1 − 0, J = 3 − 2; C34S J = 2 − 1 and C18O J = 1 − 0 lines observed with SEST and CSO telescopes. To analyze the obtained maps we applied a MEM deconvolution technique which improves the resolution significantly, if the signal-to-noise ratio is sufficientl...
